Doha in 48 hours, done properly
The layover city that deserves a stopover. Msheireb, the souq at dusk, and the one museum you shouldn't skip.
Doha rewards a short stay more than almost any city we work in, because the good parts are dense and the airport is fifteen minutes from all of them.
Land in the evening. Souq Waqif after dark, when the falcon souq is still open and the heat has broken, is the correct first impression, not the skyline.

Give the Museum of Islamic Art a full unhurried morning. It is I.M. Pei's last major building and he designed the light before he designed the rooms.
Afternoon two is Msheireb: a downtown quarter rebuilt in a deliberately Qatari idiom rather than an imported one. Walk it. Then go back to the airport, which is somehow also worth the time.
