What we require

Every traveller on a Mera trip needs medical and evacuation cover valid for the destination and dates. We ask for the policy number before final payment, and some suppliers such as safari camps will not accept a booking without it.

What we recommend on top

Cancellation and curtailment cover sized to the full trip value, and baggage cover if you are flying with connections.

• Medical and evacuation, minimum 250,000 dollars of cover
• Cancellation for the full trip value
• Activity riders for trekking, diving or altitude
• Named cover for any pre-existing condition

What insurance will not fix

Deciding not to travel is not usually a claimable event unless you bought cancel-for-any-reason cover. Read that section of your policy before you pay a balance.

Do you sell it?

No. We do not earn commission on insurance, and we will not push a product on you. Your designer will tell you plainly whether a quote you found looks adequate for the trip.
