Bush flights cap you at 15kg in a soft bag. This is not negotiable and it is the constraint that makes people panic-buy luggage.
The answer is three layers that all work alone: a merino base, a light insulated mid, and a shell. That covers 4°C to 20°C. Everything else in the bag is for heat.
“The permit buys you a morning. Everything else you do buys you the odds that the morning is the one you'll talk about for ten years.”
Two pairs of trousers, four shirts, laundry twice. Every camp we use does same-day laundry, usually free, and it is faster than you think.
Leave the boots. Trail runners handle every walk on a standard safari, and they weigh a third as much.
